is Coming! We set our clocks ahead on March 10th!
Welcome to the homepage of Hampstead Congregational Church. We hope you will find here a sense of our community. We are a diverse family of faith—each seeking on individual journeys to discover faith and what it means to live a life of joy in Christ. Grounded in the historic congregational tradition, today we serve one another and our neighborhoods in life-changing ways, from creating sacred worship space each Sunday morning to getting together to pack clothes for people in war-torn Syria.
Wherever you are on life’s journey you are Welcome Here!
The season of Lent is shortly upon us and we will start on Tuesday, March 5th with a community-wide Pancake Supper to mark “Fat Tuesday,” the day Christians traditionally eat up all the flour, fat, and sugar in the house so that they can fast for the next 40 days (leading up to Easter.) You don’t have to fast! but we’d love to have you join us for a fun night of all kinds of pancakes (with local syrup provided by the Lakes.) Everything is served from 5- 6:30 in Hadley Hall and it’s free.
The following 3 Wednesday nights we will be studying together Waking Up White by Deb Irving. We’ll start with a simple supper and then the Peace & Justice Group will lead a conversation related to understanding race in America. The book is a good read, a fast read and we think it’s a great choice for these divided times. Come and bring a friend, a daughter, son, or neighbor.
Links here will tell you more. Most of all we’d love to have you stop by on a Sunday morning (10 am) to experience yourself the joys of being part of a caring community grounded in love. Newcomers are deepening our joy every week.
In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to be in touch with me personally (LindaLeaSnyder@gmail.com 203/927-5387.)
The blessings of God to each of you,
(Rev.) Linda Snyder
