Welcome to our HCC homepage—we’re so glad you’ve stopped by.
This is a full season and we’re sure you find yourself trying to get everything done by Christmas day (or sooner if you’re traveling.) In the midst of all this, we invite you to create a little space for your spirit, time to just ‘be,’ to rest in the wonder of the ancient story of love, of Christ’ coming, as it unfolds week-to-week.
Families are lighting our Advent candles each Sunday, and of course, the growing number of children among us are bringing a lot of joy. Our dinner & study (Dec. 5th, 10th & 17th) gives an informal space to share with one another our ‘Christmas Questions.’ The choir and music, the lights and story-telling is enchanting really. I hope you’ll stop by and experience the warmth and nurture.
December of course is not all joy for everyone. These days may have us thinking about happier times. We will acknowledge this together in two ways: in our community grief support group that meets Wed. morning, Dec. 19th (10:30- 12,) and, that night during a Blue Christmas Service (6:30- 7:15.) Participants will be invited to light and take a candle in memory of a loved one, or to mark a difficult time. Quiet music, readings, and prayer will hold us as we worship.
Wherever you are on life’s journey, please remember in these holy days that you are welcome here.
Advent love to each of you,
