Happy New Year! Welcome to the homepage of

                           Hampstead Congregational Church.

We’re very glad you’ve stopped by.

A new year holds the promise of new commitments, new healing, new adventures. Even as we keep in our hearts the many events of Advent and Christmas, our congregation is poised for another year of loving and supportive friendship and caring, another year of wonderful, shared ministry. We’re growing—and give thanks to the Holy Spirit and the gifts of each person who contributes to this newness and vitality.

The Pastoral Search Team is getting ready to interview candidates for the position of permanent pastor, the Peace & Justice Group is planning with area clergy an MLK Jr. service this month, and the Discipleship Team is re-configuring our growing Sunday School (if you are interested in team-teaching one or two Sundays a month, let me know!)

As always, you are warmly welcome to take a look around this sight and at our calendar. Learn a little about us, and if you sense a connection, please visit on a Sunday when we can greet you in person (worship’s at 10 am.)  There are study groups, meal gatherings, a great choir, activities for tweens & teens, and hands-on opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to be in touch with me personally (LindaLeaSnyder@gmail.com 203/927-5387.)

New Year’s blessings & love,

Linda

(Rev.) Linda Lea Snyder

AT THE END OF THE YEAR

As this year draws to its end,
We give thanks for the gifts it brought
And how they became inlaid within
Where neither time nor tide can touch them.

Days when beloved faces shone brighter
With light from beyond themselves;
And from the granite of some secret sorrow
A stream of buried tears loosened.

We bless this year for all we learned,
For all we loved and lost
And for the quiet way it brought us
Nearer to our invisible destination.
